Vitaly Ivanov, Jurist, political analyst, political writer.

Introduction by Oleg Matveichev
Moscow,
Europe Publishing House, 2006, pp 288

This book deals with the Russian political regime and its opponents. It has naturally evolved from a series of articles published by the author between January and August 2005. Vitaly Ivanov draws a distinction between the "competitive oligarchy" of the '90s and the "modern consensus oligarchy", or "loyalist oligarchy". The book analyses the composition of the Russian "revolution party", personal characteristics of those claiming to play the role of its leaders (such as Rogozin and Kasyanov), various revolution scenarios, etc. Special attention is given to the study of the Ukrainian "revolutionary" experience and recommendations for controlling homegrown "revolutionaries" and modernizing Russian politics as a whole. The book also includes other articles by Vitaly Ivanov, such as "This holiday is needed", dealing with the People's Unity Day (November 4).
