Crisis... and yet modernization

Crisis... and yet modernization
Joseph Diskin

Moscow, Europe Publishing House, 2009, pp 108

The book is dedicated to one of the most pressing challenges: the modernization of Russia in the situation of an acute crisis. It examines the modern approaches to modernization and puts forth author’s elaboration of this theory.

Central to the book is the exposure of the specifics of home-bred modernization, as well as the reasons behind the crisis and the contradictions encountered on this path. The book contains an analysis of the essence of the qualitative changes of the last decades. It proves that the contemporary crisis dramatically questions the ability of Russia to move on the path of modernization or otherwise face a national catastrophe.

The book contains a concept of a new modernization project – a national-democratic modernization of Russia. The book is addressed to all those who are anxious about the fate of our country.
