Afanasieva Elena

Independent expert of political sciences, director of the «Center for promotion of Stability», an agency specializing in the field of competitive struggle and crisis management.
As a professional journalist she has been actively working with a number of Latvian publications since mid-eighties before moving to Novosti News Agency (APN) in late ‘80s.
Working as special correspondent for APN she has often been reporting on the events in the «crisis zones» of the former USSR, the Baltic republics and the Caucasus.
Starting with 1992 Afanaseva has been assuming leading positions in independent analytical companies.
In the first half of the ‘90s has successfully realized a series of major projects in the area of political sciences and public relations while cooperating with a number of famous politicians and parties. Recently Elena Afanaseva is actively pursuing journalistic career.
