Grigoriev Leonid

Grigoriev Leonid Makarovich, graduated from the Faculty of Economy, Moscow State University in 1968, PhD of Economic Sciences. Advanced in skill at Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates (Philadelphia, USA) and The European Institute of Business Administration (INCEAD, Fontainbleu, France), «People management» course.
1971 started his working career as a research officer of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations Institute, USSR Academy of Sciences, subsequently assuming the position of Departmental Manager and in 1991 terminating his activities in that organization in the position of Divisional Manager.
In 1990 he was invited to work as an expert in the Economic Reform Commission of the USSR and then the government of the Russian Federation.
In 1991 he was heading the Privatization Center at the Institute of Economic Policy.
From 1991 to 1992 he took the position of Deputy Minister of Economics and Finances of the Russian Federation at he same time being Chairman of the Committee for international investments.
Starting with 1992 and for five years he was working as adviser at the Board of Directors of the Russian Reconstruction and Development Bank.
In 1997 he took charge of the «Economic Analysis» bureau, where he worked till 2001 as Chief Manager.
In June 2001 he moved to the Expert Institute assuming the position of Associate Director becoming Chairman of the Board in 2005.
Starting from 2004 he is the President of «Energy and Finances Institute» Foundation and at the same time starting from 2005 he is the Dean of Faculty of Management of the International University of Moscow.
Apart from that starting from 2002 L.M.Grigoriev is heading the Association of Independent Centers for Economic Analysis, is member of the editorial board of «Strategy of Russia» magazine, member of the «National Assembly», member of the research advisory board of «Russia in Global Politics» magazine. In 2002 L.M.Grigoriev worked as councilor for the Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation. In 2000 he became member of the Council of External and Defense Policy, member of UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and member of the Expert Council on Economics within the framework of Innovational education project of the National Training Foundation. Starting from 1988 he is a lecturer at the Economic Faculty of Moscow State University (corporate investments and finances). From 1968 to 1969 he was member of the School of Economics and Mathematics at the Economic Faculty of Moscow State University and from 1969 to 1971 assumed the position of its Chairman.
During the last years several projects were realized under command and with participation of L.M.Grigoriev:
2003-2004: «Samara Region in the socio-economic system of Russia in Globalization context: a retrospective analysis and development prospects».
2001-2002: TASIS Project «Assistance for Russia's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade» within framework of Technical Assistance for the Commonwealth of Independent States in which L.M.Grigoriev took part as a long-term advisor.
2000-2002: The creation of a virtual network for the communication between institutes of economic research of Russia and universities of Russia, Moscow Public Science Foundation (MPSF) and USAID joint project.
1997-2001: Yearly overviews of Russia’s economic policy for years 1997-1999. Economic Analysis Bureau.
L.M.Grigoriev is the author of many scientific studies and publications.
The span of his scientific interests includes world energy policies, Russian and World economy predictions, studies of proprietary rights, corporate control and privatization as well as the study of the upbuilding process and the issues that relate to proprietary system of finance.
