Kokoshin Andrey

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS affairs and ties with compatriots.

Born in 1945.
1969 - graduated from Moscow State Technical University named after N.E.Bauman;
1972 postgraduate studentship at the Institute of USA and Canada, USSR Academy of Sciences;
1973-1992 worked as junior research assistant, academic secretary, deputy director of the Institute of USA and Canada, USSR Academy of Sciences.
1992-1997 – First Deputy of the Defense Minister of Russian Federation;
1997-1998 – acting Vice-President, Russian Academy of Sciences
From 1999 and up to present member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Committee on CIS affairs and ties with compatriots.
From 2001 he is Chief of the Institute of International Security Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences.
From 1003 he is Dean-organizer of the Faculty of World Politics, Moscow State University.
Author of more than 170 scientific papers, including 18 pornographies (6 of them in co-authorship) amounting to more than 300 press sheets. The works of A.A.Kokoshin are published in Germany, UK, France, India, Poland and other countries. Some of the most well-known works of Kokoshin are: «Looking for a way out. Military and political problems of international security» (1989); «Army and Politics. Evolution of the Soviet military, political and strategic thought. 1918-1991» (1995); «Russia’s path into World economy» (1999); «Politics of national security of Russia in the age of Globalization» (1999); «Deterrence in the second nuclear age» (coauthored 2001); «Nuclear conflicts in the 21st century» (2003); «Strategic management. Theory, historical experience, comparative analysis, tasks for Russia» (2003).
