Kozlova Natalia

(14.01.1946 - 7.01.2002) – Russian philosopher and sociologist. Graduated from the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University in 1967, postgraduate studentship at Philosophical Faculty of Moscow State University in 1975. 1976 -1997 worked in the Institute f Philosophy, Russian Academy of Sciences. From 1997 she is a professor of Russian State Humanitarian University. In the course of her creative career she studied the problems of public awareness in its different aspects. Having started with the «global» questions (mass culture, the works of Marshall McLuhan) she gradually moved to the analysis of recent Soviet past. Special attention has been paid to the humdrum in its various aspects, biographical genre built on «human documents» (diaries, letters etc.) that were discovered while searching archives. A number of studies is dedicated to the life of «ordinary» people of the Soviet society.
