Lasker Emanuel

Emanuil Lasker (1868–1941) – the second world champion in chess history (1894–1921), chess theoretician and writer, Doctor of Philosophy and Mathematics (1902). Lasker won major tournaments in St.Petersburg (1895/1896, 1909 and 1914), Nuremberg (1896), London (1899), Paris (1900). Has authored philosophical works «Fighting» (1907) and «Comprehending the world» (1913), which were highly spoken of by Albert Einstein. Lasker was the first one and, during his time, the only one who perceived the importance of psychological factors of fighting.
